Hello:

Does FollowMee 7.7 still work on iOS 13.4.1 in the background as a service?

I updated to iOS 13.4.1 from iOS 13.3.1 on my iPhone XR. My FollowMee app''''s service keeps stopping every time I exit the app.

I have done everything I can think of to troubleshoot -- e.g. restart multiple times, try cellular data only, Wi-Fi only -- and can confirm that the service stops every time the app is closed.

On my other iOS devices running on iOS 13.3.1, FollowMee continues to work as a background service and updates location well.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards,

My family has multiple iphones with ios 13.4.1 and 7.7 followmee and do not have this issue.

Have you looked at this link for no location update:
https://followmee.com/Troubleshoot.aspx

When you say the service has stopped how to you know? You went into the followmee settings and see its stopped? Or is it the map stops updating?

Thanks, mteicher, for the rapid response. Good to know re FollowMee app v7.7 and iOS v13.4.1.

Yes, had looked at the Troubleshoot link.

I found out that the service had stopped updating for a day this week due to the "No Update Notification" e-mail alert that I had received for this specific device. (I had subscribed to the No Update Notification service.)

I removed and reinstalled the app a few seconds ago, and will monitor it again via the map and history.

For iOS devices, most of the no update issues are caused by the disabled location service. In iOS13, Apple has changed the phone behavior. It starts to prompt user for any background tracking app. This message will pop up every several days. Tell your users to choose the "Always Allow" option. This is a new behavior of an iOS device and there is no workaround. For details, see this faq

Thanks, Administrator and mteicher.

Re iOS 13+ Location service and "Always Allow", had been aware and had checked that prior; no issues on that front.

Looks like after the remove-and-reinstall, map and history show as normal again.

Think all set and all good for now; will come back to this thread if the issue resurfaces.

Appreciate the rapid responses and help.
