We have two iPhone devices that when the devices connects to a WIFI network - the GPS tracking stops updating. Once the user moves the device out of the WIFI network (ie. back onto 3/4G data network) the tracking functions resumes and reports correctly.
Any idea why this could be occurring?.

When your iphone connects to your wifi, that means that the iphone is in the office. The phone is stationary and the app goes to sleep to preserve battery. This is by design. When it disconnects the wifi, that means that the phone leaves the office and travels outside. The app resume updating.

Thanks for the reply.
When the device is sleep state - should I be able to send and receive an on demand location update?.
