Premium service "real time map" is available. With this service, you can view your devices movement in real time. To enable, press the button "Start Real Time Map" on the map page and the map will be updated in seconds. This real time tracking is a great improvement over our regular tracking, which has delay 1 to 2 minute delay. This service is available only in iOS and Android. The app version must be v7.1 or up.

You can view the real time map with the multiple device view, or single device view. Once real time map is enabled, GPS is turned on in the remote devices and battery consumption will increase. To preserve battery, you should press the button "stop real time map" when you no longer view the real time map, navigate out of the map page, or close the browser window. When there is no viewer on the real time map, the FollowMee app in the remote device will turn off GPS and stop feeding real time update to the map page.

When you turn on real time map, the pin label shows connection status. When the remote device is connected and GPS is started, the map page shows the real time movement of your remote device. If there is an error, it will show up on the pin label. Pay attention to the error, and click on the pin to find out the details of the error.

Not all of your real time location will be saved to your location history. The FollowMee app saves your location history according to your track interval or tracking power setting. In other words, while the real time map shows location movement in seconds, the saved location history does not have this granularity and the pins are still in minutes apart.

You can sign up the trial to see if this works for you.

Currently the real time map only works on the map page of this web site. It does not work with embedded map on your web site. But we will be working on bring the real time map to your embedded map.

This is very cool. Does it have any impact on battery life or data usage?

Yes, it will increase both battery and data usage. You should stop the real time map when you are not using it.

Love this!

Just subscribed for a year of it.

A few questions, if I may...

1) does the real-time function automatically cease on the tracked device if my interaction with my browser map page stops? (I close it or navigate away from it?) It *appears* to...

2) Could this be toggled into a timed mode? I.E. I could turn it on for X minutes, if I chose? (Feature idea?)

3) how does this impact the logs?

4) another feature ask: could a number of past location data points **also** be displayed and updated when the passage of time would drop one off the list and add another (i.e. see the previous 10 locations data points that were entered into the device''s tracking log)?

Thank you for this great new feature!

Can you make it so the map is pulled up on the app instead of on the web browser

Sorry about the inconvenience. We don''t have this plan. If we add the map inside the app, any function modification for the iOS version has to be approved by Apple and this complicates our development.

The Service site says "Only maximum of 5 maps can be opened at the same time." Does this mean only 5 people can view the real-time website at once?
What does that mean for the subsequent viewers?
Please clarify and thank you!

Yes, only 5 people can view the real time map at the same time. If you have more users, the 6th user might see an error message. This only applies to the map page of this web site. But if you subscribed to the web service api and embed the real time map on your web site, it won''t be affected by this.

I subscribed to Real Time tracking in hopes that the FollowMee kml would be more accurate. It seems that this is may not be the case as where I am trying to use this service there is no cell phone service at all. So there is no way to follow the phone in real time. In that case, if I understand things correctly the app discontinues recording anything. Perhaps you can help.

The real time map service requires cellular data service so that the server can contact to the app. That means that the target phone must have internet connection. Without it, you cannot track the phone with the real time map service. But the app should continue to record location and save to the phone storage. You just cannot view these location on the map until the target phone is connected to internet and then all the saved locations are uploaded to the server.
